24 Old Ottawa Football Pennants Pins Rough Riders CFL

This lot consists of a total of twenty-four items relative to the Ottawa Rough Riders as well as four other pieces for the Sooners or Carleton Ravens. Rough Rider items include: Four 30" felt pennants, two with the early 'rider on horseback' logo. The printed autograph version is from 1980 with both Jordan Case & Condredge Holloway names included as well as Jim Coode in his last year of playing for the Riders. The 3rd pennant shows the 'single R' logo used from 1973 to 1979 while the last carries the 'logger' (or the 'Lanny MacDonald') introduced in 1995. Pennants have a few of the expected pinholes & very light creases but are in very nice condition overall. One "Flaming R's" logo license plate in mint condition, still covered with the original shrink-wrap. I picked this up at the clearance sale the Riders had when they packed it in after the 1996 season. One "120 Years of Football Tradition" (121 years, actually) felt patch, ironically issued during the club's final year. Identical patches were worn on uniforms that year and this one's mint. Seven celluloid pinback buttons ranging from 2-1/4" to 3-1/2" in diameter including a Tony Gabriel & a very early "Go Riders Go" button. One flaming R's ballpoint pen--old, but still has some ink left. A scarce faux pocket handkerchief, a freebie from a local dry cleaner--Rider's red, white & black colors of fabric with a schedule printed on the bottom. Year not shown, but probably 1950's or 60's. A small ORR 2" x 2-1/2" rider on horseback logo sewn patch--mint. A folding ORR pocket schedule from 1976, their last Grey Cup winning season. Unmarked & in nice condition. A folding ORR pocket schedule from 1996, their last year. Mint. An uncut sheet of season tickets from their last year with players of all retired numbers pictured. A signed glossy photo of the late Ron Lancaster who played here from 1960 to 1962. An original hand-signed autograph with light corner crease. Also included in this lot are a 30" Ottawa Sooners pennant with old pin-back celluloid button & push-back pin as well as an early Ottawa (Carleton U) Ravens pin issued for the annual Panda Game against U of O.
